Parts and Operation
Ocular focus
this is a reticle maximum sharpness one-time adjustment that may slightly differ from one shooter to another. Ocular focussing is a recipe for accurate shooting.
- Set parallax to infinity and magnification to the highest setting.
- Back out the diopter to make the reticle slightly blurry
- Turn the eyepiece until the reticle is as clear and crisp as possible
Magnification Adjustment
The magnification adjustment is used to change the riflescope’s magnification level, or “power,” adjusting from low to high magnification depending on the shooter’s preference. Rotate the magnification indicator bar to the magnification of your choice.
Turret Adjustments
This riflescope features adjustable elevation and windage turrets with audible clicks. Each click moves the bullet’s point of impact 1/4 MOA at 100 yards, 1/2 inch at 200 yards, and 3/4 inch at 300 yards. You need (4) clicks to move the bullet’s point of impact approximately 1 inch at 100 yards.
- Remove the caps
- Turn the turret up or down, left or right
- Replace caps when done
Parallax Setting & Correction
Parallax is basically an occurrence that happens when the target image doesn’t align with the same optical plane as the reticle causing reticle movement in relation to the target if your eye is off-center.
For riflescopes with a fixed parallax, it’s set at 100yards.
If your scope uses image focus/parallax adjustment here is how to go about it
- Make sure the reticle is focused correctly
- Rotate the AO to match the numbers with the shooting distance
- Align the yardage number to the indicator arrow on the scope body.
- Look through the scope to see if images are sharp while moving your head back and forth to look for the reticle shift
- If there is no movement between the reticle and target in the back and forth movement then your setting is correct
- If there is movement, adjust the focus knob until the movement is eliminated
